Traditional Marriage in California: Defending Free Speech and Religion From the Tyranny of the State

Residents in California are increasingly feeling they're in a loony bin with the decisions of activist judges making wicked rulings that defy God's laws and therefore further destroy the foundations of the United States, a nation founded by Christian's, framing their government upon the principles of ancient Israel, as well documented by W. Cleon Skousen in his crowning work "The Magesty of God's Law." Ivy league professors show in their research that the private writings of the US Founders to each other consist of over 60% in directly quoting the old testament, ancient Israel being used as a blueprint for the government they were framing. Yes, American's foundations are spiritual and based upon the prinicples of the Ten Commandments. Madison wrote:

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” (James Madison, 1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia)

Patrick Henry stated it so, as did all of the prominent founding fathers, all of which is censored away and cleaned out of modern day textbooks in the public school systems (What Charlott Iserbyte of Reagan's Dept. of Education correctly called government propaganda centers). Patrick Henry said:

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” (Patrick Henry, May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses)

Liars publishing textbooks seek to make Jefferson, for example, out to be hostile toward religion. They distort the facts. True, Jefferson blasted the churches of his day and condemned the false notions, superstitions and creeds taught, but he was not anti-religion. Here for example are two statements that are an absolute delight to share in a college or high school history class that leave the text book writers lacking in credibility:

“If the freedom of religion ... can ... prevail, the genuine doctrines of Jesus ... will again be restored to their original purity, This reformation will advance with the other improvements of the human mind, but too late for me to witness it.” (A letter to Jaret Sparks, Bergh, The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, op. cit., 15:288; quoted in The Real Thomas Jefferson, by Andrew Allison, Washington, D.C.: The National Center for Constitutional Studies, 1983, p. 366.) (Quoted also in The Majesty of Gods Law, W. Cleon Skousen.p. 20.)

On another occasion Jefferson wrote that he was “Happy in the prospect of a restoration of primitive Christianity.” (Letter to Dr. Benjamin Waterhouse, Bergh, The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, op. cit., 15:391.) Also quoted in The Majesty of God’s Law, W. Cleon Skousen, p. 20.)

Today, how would Jefferson view the debate in California over the definition of marriage? Obviously all of the founders upon viewing our state of affairs today would be alarmed, seeing the framework they set up to shackle government into narrow parameters now being trampled on by the very people who swear oaths to uphold and defend it. Jefferson said:

I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every from of tyranny over the mind of man.

Today, Jefferson would oppose the vicious priest craft that is the public school system in the United States, especially in California, where judges have now ruled that parental rights are severed when the child crosses the threshold of the schoolhouse door. Such wicked rulings should have created a mass exodus from the system, but it seems to not have stirred many. Further assaults seemingly dull our senses with their near weekly frequency. One such was the recent ban on home schooling by tyrannical, wicked judges. Government is assaulting the family by leaps and bounds. Such government officials however have been warned, that as they make these moves against the family, as ordained of God, they will incur His wrath and bring upon themselves and their communities and nations the "calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets." Such is the warning in The Proclamation on The Family.

Given the warning of the prophetic proclamation (the link above), it is alarming to see the Governor of California in 2007 sign into law another assault upon the family and the minds of children. This legislation created a "ban" on the use of "mom" and "dad," as reported by World Net Daily.

The assault today against the family is coming with tremendous rapidity. The nation needs God, but as former LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley lamented, the United States with her secularism is forsaking God:

“We are forsaking the Almighty and I fear he is forsaking us. We are closing the door against the God whose sons and daughters we are”

God has helped and aided America in her founding, and answered the prayers of her righteous, founding patriots who were petitioners before the Almighty God of heaven:

“In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered… do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?” (Ben Franklin, Constitutional Convention, Thursday June 28, 1787.)

American's today need God as never before, and it is sobering as well as encouraging to note Ben Franklin's acknowledgement of God's influence in the history of this nation. Those holding to freedom of Religion and speech can look not far off in other countries to see where those speaking out against homosexuality from their pulpits have been criminalized by the state. To hell with Jefferson's "eternal hostility against every from of tyranny over the mind of man." Such tyranny now exists in nations where by legal definition, marriage has been diluted and expanded out of what it has been in the past.

Should the citizens of California choose to turn from the God-ordained wisdom of marriage between a man and a woman, her doom is fixed, and judgements will begin to be poured out as the scriptures warn. Anciently a prophet, a seer wrote:

Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people.

And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land. (Mosiah 29:26-27)

Here are some video resources put out by the LDS Church, one of the many religious organizations backing the campaign (also here) in support of Prop 8, seeking to preserve their liberty to teach their doctrines on the family, free of the oppression of the state upon them as occurred in the 1880's as the government persecuted and prosecuted the church, siezing temples, lands, assetts, jailing leaders and oppressing them in their rights of free religion and assembly. A precursor of some of that oppression is discussed here.
